Successful ESPCP Deployment in Oman
PCM is proud to announce the successful installation and start-up of a new Electrical Submersible Progressing Cavity Pump (ESPCP) system in Oman.
This installation represents another milestone in PCM’s ongoing field development program and highlights the operational advantages of ESPCP technology in deep and highly deviated wells.
The equipment has been commissioned successfully and is operating smoothly, delivering stable production performance.
A big thank you to PCM’s expert ESPCP field service team for another excellent job, executed safely and professionally. And this is just the beginning in this field: As part of the development plan and our contract, 16 additional systems will be installed over the next 3 years.
System Overview
PCM ESPCP, a Rod-Free PCP Solution
The Electrical Submersible Progressing Cavity Pump (ESPCP) combines the advantages of:
- An ESP downhole motor
- The solids-handling and volumetric efficiency of PCP technology
Unlike conventional rod-driven PCP systems, ESPCP is a rod-free system, making it particularly suited for:
- Highly deviated wells
- Deep wells
- Offshore operations
- Environments where rod string wear and surface equipment footprint are concerns
A key differentiator of PCM’s ESPCP system is the unique compatibility of the 16-pole permanent magnet motor with any brand of Variable Speed Drive (VSD).
