RUC® certification with a final result of 100% for PCM in Colombia
PCM Colombia pass through the RUC® annual certification process during the first week of December with a final result of 100% achievement. That means for 2020 PCM Colombia SAS did not have any labor accident, damages or impact to the environment, we did not present any inconsistency in our information, we follow the Colombian Safety Council standards, among other things.
This is a very important achievement for our organization in Colombia, says Sergio Ferrero, PCM Colombia country manager.
The RUC® was born in Colombia in 1998 as an initiative of the Hydrocarbons industry, in order to reduce the accident rate of its contractors, adopting the name of the Uniform Registry for Contractors. In 2006 it was adopted by Contracting companies from other sectors. This standard incorporates criteria for safety, health at work and environmental protection and the adoption of foreign practices. It is currently the most widely recognized model for managing contractors, adopted by the most important contracting companies in the country.
The RUC® is the only standard with tripartite participation where Companies, Contractors and the Colombian Safety Council intervene in favor of common objectives and joint construction of knowledge for the permanent development of the contractor.
The RUC® certification is granted by the Colombian Safety Council and it is an important considered factor at the time oil companies choose their providers. A poor performance in the RUC certification can block the hiring of a service company.
